Atipa Technologies Becomes the Latest Organization to Join the Bright Reseller Program in North America

By Bright Staff | Wednesday March 18, 2020 - Today, Bright Computing, a global leader in Linux cluster automation and management software for HPC and machine learning, announced that Atipa Technologies has become the latest company to join the Bright Computing Partner Program, as an Advanced Reseller.

Operating across North America, Atipa Technologies provides HPC solutions to universities, government laboratories, aerospace and biochemistry organizations.  Atipa is the high-performance computing division of Microtech Computers. Microtech Computers is the founding company that researches, builds and configures Atipa HPC clusters, servers and workstations. Microtech Computers was established in 1986, and for 30+ years has been perfecting the customization of high-end servers and workstations.

Atipa has chosen to partner with Bright Computing as Bright Cluster Manager is easy to understand and intuitive to use, reducing cluster use training time and allowing Atipa customers to get up to speed and execute jobs as quickly as possible.

Atipa envisages that Bright Cluster Manager will add significant value to its HPC portfolio through the comfort of a full GUI experience for their turnkey HPC solutions.

Atipa HPC-powered Solutions Offer a Widescreen Approach to Scientific Visualization

Lawrence, Kan., February 25, 2020 – What does it take for expert researchers to understand something as complex as an exploding star, or the functioning of the human brain? For starters, they need powerful codes to model and simulate their problems, and computers with hundreds of thousands of nodes to run their simulations. But mostly, they need lots and lots of data.

Atipa Technologies, Intel, and Northern Illinois University Train Next Generation Of Visualization Experts

Lawrence, Kan., January 13, 2020 – Researchers at Northern Illinois University (NIU) seek new ways to visualize complex data involved with astrophysics, bio-sciences, and much more. With support from Atipa Technologies and Intel® Select Solutions for Simulation & Visualization, the NIU team has the compute power needed to resolve large-scale simulations, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) scenarios. A central feature of NIU’s visualization solution is a 16-foot by 8-foot display that allows scientists to see content at a level of detail not possible before. The unique display solution’s user-tracking interface also lets scientists interact with it physically rather than using a keyboard or mouse. As a result, both scientists and non-scientists can tap the system’s full potential.

In this Intel Conversations in the Cloud audio podcast: Dana Chang, Vice President and Co-founder at Atipa Technologies, joins Conversations in the Cloud to discuss Atipa’s Polaris High Performance Computing and Visualization (HPCV) platform.

Atipa has over 18 years of experience in HPC. The company researches, builds and configures HPC clusters, servers and workstations. Atipa’s development of the Polaris HPCV platform won them the Intel Partner of the Year Award for HPC Technical Solutions in 2018.

Today’s scientists need faster insights and visualize increasingly large data sets. Atipa’s Polaris Select HPCV clusters are optimized for high-performance computation and visualization to meet these growing demands. The Atipa Polaris HPCV Platform uses 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and the Intel Rendering Framework for CPU-based rendering. This enables a balanced performance for simulation and modeling or simulation and visualization. Atipa Technologies, Intel, and Northern Illinois University Train Next Generation Of Visualization Experts

Lawrence, Kan., May 6, 2019 – Atipa Technologies, a leading provider of high-performance computing and storage solutions, has announced the deployment of its Polaris High Performance Computing and Visualization (HPCV) platform at Northern Illinois University. The platform is a turnkey Intel Select Solution for Professional Visualization, enabling cost effective and performance verified scientific simulation and visualization.

The Polaris Select HPCV platform leverages the Intel Rendering Framework with optimized ray-tracing algorithms to use the Intel Xeon Scalable Processors already present in the server, avoiding add-in graphics processors for high-fidelity rendering and visualization. The framework uses the Message Passing Interface (MPI) to extend the scalability of visualization workloads beyond a single node, enabling the use of the aggregated memory of all cluster nodes to visualize data sets of hundreds of gigabytes to terabytes.

Scalable Simulation, Scientific Visualization and Professional Rendering with Atipa Polaris Select HPCV Clusters

Massive data sets generated in scientific computing, big data analytics, and machine learning are overwhelmingly complex and difficult to comprehend without visual analysis. Visualizing data sets enhances the scientist’s understanding of complex ideas while also facilitating peer-to-peer communication and public outreach of scientific results – sharing raw data tables is not as effective as colorful, photorealistic visualizations that appeal to business stakeholders as well as scientists and engineers.

Traditional simulation and data analysis workflows are based on an ad-hoc model where scientific simulations are performed on a high-performance compute cluster and the results are subsequently transferred to disk for eventual visual analysis on a dedicated GPU-based workstation or cluster. For truly big data, this data movement is inefficient, time consuming, and, at scale, simply impossible.
