A seamless transition from the Zen 2 EPYC Rome ecosystem with pin-compatible processors. Milan processors offer up to 128 PCIe lanes, 8 channel memory, and dual socket configurations. 7nm x86 CPU technology, and an integrated security processor on die, EPYC™ 7003 processors provide up to 32MB of L3 cache per core, 4-6-8 memory channel interleaving designed for better economies and performance in multiple DIMM configurations, plus synchronized clocks between fabric and memory, all driving better, faster time to results.​

AMD EPYC™ has been engineered for datacenters that rely on CPU performance. From oil and gas exploration, to in-memory databases, to big data analytics to production rendering to standard datacenter applications, highly parallel workloads have more cores to work with. AMD EPYC™ 7003 generation processors scale from 8 to 64 cores (16-128 threads per socket). No other x86 vendor today enables such a core density in the market.

Secure Encrypted Virtualization

With Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV), AMD EPYC™ processors helps safeguard privacy and integrity by encrypting each virtual machine with one of up to 509 unique encryption keys known only to the processor. This aids in protecting confidentiality of your data even if a malicious virtual machine finds a way into your virtual machine’s memory, or a compromised hypervisor reaches into a guest virtual machine.

AMD™ Infinity Guard

Built into the silicon, AMD™ Infinity Guard is a suite of advanced security features designed to defend against internal and external threats attacking your data and decrease potential attack surfaces as software is booted, executed, and processes your critical data.  Featuring AMD™ Secure Encrypted Virtualization technologies strengthened with Secure Nested Paging, AMD™ Infinity Guard help you to defend against internal and external threats and keep your data safe with virtually zero impact to system performance.

Secure Nested Paging

The new 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ processors feature the latest advancement in AMD™ SEV technologies called Secure Nested Paging (SEV-SNP). SEV-SNP adds strong memory integrity protection capabilities to help prevent malicious hypervisor based attacks like data replay, memory re-mapping, and more in order to create an isolated execution environment.

AMD™ 3D V-Cache Technology

AMD EPYC™ 7003 Processors with AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology triple the amount of available L3 cache to 768MBs per socket versus standard EPYC 7003 series, helping deliver faster time-to-results on targeted workloads like Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Electronic Design Automation (EDA), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). These processors are the first to leverage true 3D die stacking, delivering up to 3X the L3 cache, lower latency, and higher bandwidth compared to standard AMD EPYC™ 7003 Series processors. These innovations enable breakthrough per-core performance to accelerate simulation applications and enhance design fidelity, so products can get to market faster.

AMD EPYC™ 7003 Processors with AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology are socket compatible with existing AMD EPYC™ 7003 platforms and are built to optimize workloads like EDA, CFD, and FEA. EPYC™ 7003 Processors with 3D V-Cache have 768MB of L3 Cache, while EPYC™ 7003 processors without 3D V-Cache™ have 256MB. Having access to 768MB of L3 cache helps improve performance and speeds up simulation workloads by continuously feeding each processor core up to 96MB of L3 cache per CCD without having to access main memory outside of the CPU.
