Atipa DAS Servers

Atipa I-B12S DAS (Direct Attached Storage) Server
1U/12-bay SAS to SAS

The I-B12S features unprecedented space efficiency by providing all advanced RAID functions in a 1U enclosure. Using 2.5-inch disk drives allows twice the number of spindles within the same footprint, and hence is ideal for I/O-intensive applications. The I-B12S supports the capacity expansion with 3 or 4 JBOD enclosures (60 HDD) and the flexibility of attaching both SAS or SATA-II disk drives.

  • Dual-active or single controller
  • 2.5-inch SAS disk drives
  • Four (R1030) or two (G1030) SAS multi-lane host ports
  • Hardware RAID5 and RAID6 engine by dedicated ASIC400 chipsets
  • EonPath® multipathing software
  • Expansion to SAS or SATA JBOD
Total Capacity with Expansion Up to 50TB (Max. Capacity Configuration - using 64 SATA HDD in single-controller JBOD)
or
7.2TB (Fault Tolerance Configuration - using 48 SAS HDD in dual-controller JBOD)
Scalability
  • Redundant-controller RAID - 3 JBOD
  • Single-controller RAID - 4 JBOD
  • 1U JBOD - Up to 4 JBOD for a total of 60 HDD
  • 2U JBOD - Up to 4 JBOD for a total of 60 HDD
  • 3U JBOD - Up to 4 JBOD for a total of 76 HDD
RAID Levels RAID level 0, 1(0+1), 3, 5, 6, 10, 30, 50, 60; arrays of different RAID levels can co-exist in a configuration.
Host Connectivity B12S-R1030 - 4 SAS multi-lane SFF-8088
B12S - G1030 - 2 SAS multi-lane SFF-8088
Drive Connectivity 12 SAS HDD via a passive backplane
Drive-side expansion via SAS multi-lane SFF-8088 per controller
Rackmount Size 1U
Input Voltage 115VAC @ 6A
230VAC @ 3A with PFC (auto-switching)
Frequency 47 to 63Hz
Power Consumption 380W (max.)
Atipa I-S16S DAS (Direct Attached Storage) Server
3U/16-bay SAS to SAS/SATA

With 4 or 2 SAS wide host ports, each with a 1200MBps bandwidth, the I-S16S aims to succeed SCSI-based arrays in DAS applications. Capacity can be more readily expanded using the SAS wide expansion links by the addition of the I-S16S JBOD. Within the array, reliable SAS drives can be applied for mission-critical operations and the high capacity SATA drives for near-line backup or archival uses.

  • SAS to SAS/SATA-II RAID subsystem
  • Redundant or single RAID controller
  • EonPath® multi-pathing, load-balancing software
  • 4 or 2 SAS 4x wide host ports
  • Hardware RAID6 engine by dedicated ASIC400 chipsets
  • Superior performance w/ uncomplicated connectivityExpansion to SAS or SATA JBOD
  • 16 SAS or SATA-II (3Gbps) disk drives
  • Expansion to 80TB via a 4x wide expansion port
RAID
  • Hardware RAID5 & RAID6
  • Supports RAID 0, 1 (0+1), 3, 5, 6, 10, 30, 50, 60, NRAID
  • RAID Migration
  • Configurable stripe size and write policy per array
  • Multiple Global, Dedicated, & Enclosure-specific hot-spares
  • Intelligent Drive Handling:
    • In degraded mode: skips irreparable blocks to continue rebuild
    • In normal operation: data-block verification and repair
Host Interface
  • 4 (S16S-R1030) or 2 (S16S-G1030) SAS wide ports
