Atipa Technologies Announces Exciting "A" Series Servers Based on AMD Opteron™ 6100 Series Processors

New Atipa servers deliver strong value with more Cores and
high performance

Lawrence, Kansas March 29, 2010: Atipa Technologies today announced the Atipa "A" series of servers based on 8- and 12-core AMD Opteron™ 6100 Series processors, formerly codenamed “Magny-Cours,” for high-end servers, offering outstanding performance-per-watt capabilities. Additionally, the AMD Opteron 6000 Series platform, formerly codenamed “Maranello,” consists of two or four G34 Sockets, packing anywhere between 16 and 48 processing cores per server, helping customers get more out of their IT investments.

The new processors have HyperTransport™ 3.0 Technology (HT3), with bus speeds increased to 6.4GT/s, to help increase performance scalability, as well as AMD Cool Speed™ Technology and the new C1E feature that helps reduce power consumption. These features enable power savings in datacenters.

Atipa "A" Servers with AMD Opteron 6100 Series processors support up to 12 cores per CPU, fit within either 2 or 4 socket systems and offer quad-channel memory interface, as well as up to 12 memory modules per CPU with enterprise-specific functionality. AMD Direct Connect Architecture 2.0 with up to 48 total cores in a 4-socket configuration can in many cases more than double memory bandwidth, and provides 1.3X the I/O bandwidth of previous generation 2- and 4-socket servers, helping businesses tackle complex jobs with greater throughput, exceptional value, and readiness to scale.
