Atipa Blade Clusters

Atipa Stiletto Blade Cluster allows more processing power in less rack space, simplifying cabling and reducing power consumption. According to a SearchWinSystems article on server technology, enterprises moving to blade servers can experience as much as an 85% reduction in cabling for blade installations over conventional 1U or tower servers.

The Stiletto Blade Cluster is a revolutionary high-performance blade server systemA blade server is a server chassis housing multiple thin, modular electronic circuit boards, known as server blades.

Each blade is a server in its own right, often dedicated to a single application. The blades are literally servers on a card, containing processors, memory, integrated network controllers, an optional fiber channel host bus adaptor (HBA) and other input/output (IO) ports. Each blade typically comes with one or two local ATA or SCSI drives. For additional storage, blade servers can connect to a storage pool facilitated by a network-attached storage (NAS), Fiber Channel, or SCSI storage-area network (SAN).

The advantage of blade servers comes not only from the consolidation benefits of housing several servers in a single chassis, but also from the consolidation of associated resources (like storage and networking equipment) into a smaller architecture that can be managed through a single interface technology inside and out. This working relationship allows clients to successfully manage and implement changes.
featuring both Intel® Xeon 5300/5100/5000 series and AMD Opteron Rev. F processors. It is precision-engineered with the utmost in flexibility, high availability and reliability. Chassis management modules, Gigabit Ethernet switch modules, InfiniBand switch modules as well as 3+1 redundant high-efficiency power supplies keep the system running 24 x 7 at peak performance. Offering industry-leading performance and density at a lower total cost, Atipa's Stiletto Blade Cluster is the perfect choice for mission-critical enterprise applications and high performance computing environments.

1400-watt, 2800-watt or up to 7,500-watt redundant power configurations provide high availability and necessary flexibility for customers to optimize the system power budget for specific applications. This helps customers achieve optimal power efficiency. The Stiletto Blade Server features multiple integrated switch fabrics to optimize I/O performance and connectivity. High-speed, low-latency InfiniBand switching (20Gb/s per port) is ideal for clustering applications. Up to 90% cable reduction and 65% rack-space savings greatly simplify installation and save rental space cost. The integrated chassis management module (CMM) with IPMI 2.0, KVM-over-IP, and Virtual-Media-over-LAN provides remote access to all compute blades, switches, power supplies, and cooling fans.
